As an established supplier to Unilever UK, Iconnet was tasked with developing two custom applications to help improve key day-to-day processes at the factory.
We developed a bespoke Visitor Management System (VMS) — an application that monitors the activity of VIP guests, suppliers and visitors on-site at the Unilever Ice Cream Factory in Gloucester. In addition, the application gives the ability to manage PPE, visitor health and safety on-site by way of a pre-recorded video with question/answer engagement.
Multiple touch screens with card scanning devices were deployed at the Gatehouse (security) and in the reception area of the factory.
To help visualise the extensive set of meeting rooms for both visitors and staff, we developed a native Android app showing availability and room status on tablets housed within custom designed mounts. A separate administrative monitoring application was developed to identify any downtime to the tablets/application.
We were then tasked with building a custom Warehouse Management System (WMS), internally known as the stores booking solution, with its own desktop touch screen application, scanner and label printer that accepts 'part' orders received at the factory.
Sitting alongside this is a web-based application to manage the SAP ERP integration. Included is a virtual racking system which highlights the location of the item on screen for easy identification, allowing the warehouse team to locate a 'part' item within the expansive internal store warehouses — all in under two minutes.
